New features added to Hunter-ed.com's online Illinois hunter education course

Hunter-ed.com is pleased to announce three major enhancements to its online Illinois hunter education course. All hunting safety course content is now professionally narrated so students can select the learning style that's best for them: listen, read or both. Hunter exam questions also are read aloud, and include pictures to help students recall what they've learned—a hunter-ed.com exclusive. Hundreds of firearm and hunter safety illustrations have been updated with realistic details to give students a clear idea of what to expect once they're in the field.

DALLAS — Successfully completing a hunter education course is mandatory for most Illinois hunting license buyers born on or after Jan. 1, 1980. With hunter-ed.com, people learn the official hunter education material that is taught in Illinois classroom courses. Students take the fast-paced Illinois hunter safety course online when it fits their schedule, then complete their certification by attending a field day led by Illinois hunter safety instructors. Students completing the hunter education course may then purchase an Illinois hunting license. (www.hunter-ed.com/Illinois)

Hunter-ed.com's new-and-improved Illinois online hunter education course is a big hit with many students. One student wrote: "Your site has been great. I am a Marine and have had countless hours behind all sorts of weapons, but the information I have received from your course has been irreplaceable. I thought it was going to be a drag and boring, but I have actually enjoyed the course very much."

Since 2002, more than one million students have taken a hunter-ed.com hunter safety course. Hunter-ed.com staff frequently updates the hunter education course content and presentation, based on extensive reviews by hunting and firearms safety authorities. Although its courses have received many accolades through the years, hunter-ed.com continues to add extras and special features designed to appeal to today's hunters.

"We are gratified that so many state agencies and students have selected hunter-ed.com to be their hunter education partner," said Kurt Kalkomey, president of Kalkomey Enterprises, Inc. "Hunter-ed.com continually innovates so that we can introduce more folks to the rich heritage of hunting. Our motto is 'Get safe, get certified' so you can maximize your enjoyment of the outdoors. These days, very few people can devote an entire weekend or multiple weeknights to take a classroom hunting course. The hunter-ed.com online course saves time and money, and opens up hunting opportunities for young people."

Hunter-ed.com's Illinois hunter safety course material is free to the public. Students pay $24.50 to print out a field day voucher that admits them to a field day.

"Getting safety education to hunters is a good way to improve safety in the field, and offering both the traditional lecture-style hunter education course and the online study options give hunters of all ages a chance to take the course that best suits their schedule," said Jeff Hopkins, Illinois DNR safety education administrator.

Hunter-ed.com is a division of Kalkomey Enterprises, Inc., which publishes more than 190 hunter education products selected by 48 states. For more information about official hunter safety courses and state requirements for hunter education, please visit www.hunter-ed.com.
